Coastsiders have been slaying the salmon from muir to duxbury the last 3 days, so if the reports from today and tomorow hold up, I'd like to launch from muir beach and have at them.  Anyone game?  I can carry 1 extra guy/yak with my van - based in union city.  That includes using my yard/hose for fish cleaning and boat washing if needed.

Guess it was slower today, but fish were caught just past the surfline off stinson.  Hopefully tomorow's report picks up a bit.  Guys are catching incidental stripers and halibut too.  One reported a 16" 'white seabass' which was probably wishful thinking for 'white croaker'.

Reports today are looking pretty amazing, fish caught right outside the breakers in 20' of water. Anyone have good directions to the launch for San Jose?

I was thinking about that area also, havn't had much time for reports lately, are they mooching or trolling???  If I did go I wouldn't be able to make it there till 8 or 9 am.  Do you guys surf launch there?  Last time I was in the area I surf launched from bolinas beach and the waves were ankle slappers.  jtf..

Muir beach is better than bolinas for launching, it's still a bit frothy though.  Coastsiders were getting them near the mouth of the lagoon, so maybe a bolinas launch would be better - put ya closer to the duxbury reef too.  Guess I'll be paying close attention to coastside tomorow.  The wind is from the south kinda, which will probably kick up the surf a bit at bolinas and muir beach, usually the wind also pushes the current, which draws the plankton, anchovies and salmon with it.  Perhaps if we're lucky they'll be stuck in the bay beween the duxbury reef and stinson beach for a few days?

I'm sure it will be a zoo-- there's been some good reports of halibut in there as well.

I'm going to go take a look in a few hours-- probably take a long, long lunch.  I'll post a first hand looksee

I listened to shiptoshore today for the duxbury area and it sounded kind of bleak.  A fair number of boaters were out, but generally quiet.  Best report was that one party boat had caught half a dozen shakers and two legal fish near gull rock, which is about 2 miles north of muir.  Said they really had to scratch for fish though.

Think I'll wait on more consistent action, but last year that usually meant limits for joel, so take that into consideration.

I heard a comment that it'd be convenient to fish the area from a kayak because it's a short run from the available launches.
