Question about music on kayaks

I'm tempted to ask "How do you tuna fish?".  But I won't.

LOL   . Good one!

One recent day, I was fishing a kelp bed alongside another kayaker.  He was listening to podcasts and eventually music on his bluetooth speakers; I was silent.  He was catching; I was getting skunked.

Obviously there are tons of variables in play, but his music wasn't prohibitive.  I'll add that it was loud enough that I could hear it 25 yards away.

Be careful, that might attract whales...

 

I fish with music a lot, doesn't seem to make a difference...it's just a little single waterproof speaker so not like i'm thumping the bass or anything....and I get others don't always want to hear my music so keep reasonable volume.
