I do appreciate all the input on this. Im going out tomorrow and going to try the old rock and sock technique. I will clip a sock full of rocks to a little below my bouy via the timed release. Hopefully this keeps all my junk on the bottom and I don't have to let my pot drop to the bottom. I know there is gonna be a learning curve and I may lose some gear in the process but I gotta start somewhere. The thievery needs to stop. Ive lost way too much gear and crab. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

So yesterday (Sunday) I went out in half moon bay. I was fortunate that some thief decided to take one of my cages. Yes, stole the whole cage, leaded rope and buoy. Pretty crappy for sure since this was my first time dropping cages.

Sad because when we first got there, I overheard someone saying someone stole their crabs. I guess I was fortunate that my thief decided to take the crabs and the whole cage and accessories.

Fish n game didn’t seem to care much about the theft. Nothing they can do about it I guess. He made sure to check my crabs and license and moved on.

It just sucks.

I see you post.  Sorry that happened.  It is possible it walked, or that the line wasn’t secure, or it got run over by a prop.  Most likely though is it was stolen.  And DFW, sheriff, and harbor patrol can take a report but usually don’t unless you have a witness and a description of the perps.

This is that same Tapatalk bug that I told you about in another thread.  It's nothing the NCKA admins can do much about since it seems to be a compatibility issue between Tapatalk (3rd party software) and SMF (the forums software NCKA uses).  It's a bummer, but to be sure, load up the site in your mobile browser and you should see all of your posts, unlike what you're experiencing in Tapatalk.
