Shelter Cove - 11/10/20

Cold November day at the Cove.  Got there late and left early with a fat sack of fillets.  The lingcod weren't wanting the chove, but five species of rockfish were.  My crab bait inventory is looking strong.

Extended depth rockfish-lingcod-crab combo trips through December 31st.

I'm looking for someone who wants to catch a huge lingcod, get video and photos and release it.

We'll keep some too.

Those pics remind me I really need to get up to Shelter Cove.  Albion and Benbow in December, but then it's time to plan a Shelter Cove trip and get on your calendar.

Those tractors are pretty amazing, and the crew running the launch for the past year has been the best I've ever seen - really impressive.

Grab a date with me, Tedski.  Best thing to do is to grab two consecutive days if I have them open (likely), and we can narrow it down to the better forecast once we get close on the calendar.

What’s your favorite recipe for the rockfish?

I'm a fry-guy!  Egg, milk and a little Worcestershire and then coated with a mix of Italian seasoned bread crumbs and Panko.  I've owned many little "Fry Daddy" type deep fryers, and I think that's the way to go.  Beaver brand tartar and some 'secret sauce' (50/50 ketchup and mustard), and I'm a happy camper.

Tacos too - also fried.
