I'm staying at Costanoa next weekend.  looks like its situated at the northern tip of Ano sanctuary.
Has anyone ever:

1.  Stayed at Costanoa?  What are the cabins like?  Should bring own linens, heated blanket?  Looks cold!
2.  Any pokepoling or foraged between there and Pigeon Pt?

Thx for any tips

Never stayed there but looks like a nice place.  We were considering a reservation. Let us know how it is.

Franklin Point is pretty awesome.  Beautiful tidepools with some pokepole or rockfishing opportunities.  Haven't been there for 26 years or more though.

Enjoy.   :smt001

Año Nuevo SMR extends up to Gazos Creek Road, so just make sure you're north of that.

Great place to camp. The restaurant onsite pretty darn good for takeout and drinks! I have not stayed in the cabins since we have an RV.

We stay here with our fifth wheel a few times a year.  The bathrooms are clean and the tent cabins look nice.

just realized that the cabins do not have attached bathrooms!  DOH!  They do these comfort stations, which looks like a communal access multiple shower/sink/stall deal.

Back from weekend trip to Costanoa.  Fri night in the lodge, Saturday in the Coastal cabin.

Lodge was nice.  Small tidy room with a king bed, 2 end tables, and two lounge chairs.  Soaking tub, "fireplace" and balcony sufficient to have morning coffee if needed.
Coastal cabin was also great.  They have three types of cabins, and the coastal cabins are the ones with queen size in separate bedroom, two bunk beds, small full kitchen and bathroom.  It was actually the perfect 'tiny home' and the wife now wants one in the backyard.

Cascade restaurant.  Bfast was very good.  I had the bfast tostada two days in a row, nice morning repast to get the day started.  Dinner menu was OK.  Shortribs fell short of well seasoned, but the meat was high quality.

Beach access.  Franklin Point is across the street, by way of a 20 min walk.  Pigeon Point Lighthouse is about 2 clix up the road.

Me and the boy foraged in Whaler Cove for ~10 lbs of mussels for the group to share on Saturday night, appetizer to the ordered meals at Cascade.  Everyone LOVVVED em.  These mussels had major league barnacles, but tasted awesome (putting aside the sand and grit)

EV charging.  They say they have 3 slots.  BUT they do NOT have a Level 2 chargers.  They have 3 parking spots adjacent to outlets and you bring your own charging apparatus.

Def looking fwd to going back.

We stayed there late September when they reopened after the fire. We love Costanoa. Run the dogs on the beach north of the lighthouse.  In prior years it’s our base to see the elephant seals at Ano Nuevo.

And 2 years ago on another late September night we were sitting by the fire and the squid fleet showed up lighting up the ocean. It was amazing to see. I’ve only caught one white sea bass in my life and it’s all I could think about as I imagined all the squid squirming under those lights.

PS if you’re willing to take a a little bit of an uphill hike you’ll find a couple of chairs with a view.  Bring a couple of beers... it’s downhill from there.
