Well, the fog was right at the water's edge. I have to agree with ken kickfish, fog is no fun and even less so north of town.

I paddled out, hoping it would lift, but I think it got thicker. the wind in the fog was pretty strong too.

so kind of a bad call there. live and learn ( I hope).

C&R'ed a couple gophers but then packed it in, I don't like the fog, GPS or not.  did see what looked
like a lot of structure in 30 to 50 north of the cove and quite a few marks.

hope everybody else had better conditions.

The PB traffic is light there. They generally swing wider away from shore usually and head to aNo.

I did not see any boats until I was in the truck and about to leave and saw a whaler working hard uphill toward aNo.

It was also blowing and starting to whitecap inside the fog.

those things combined with the slightest hint of some seasickness from not being able to see the horizon sent me in after my second gopher and going over some good marks and not getting hit.

If I was getting bit good or the fog lifted or the wind died a bit I might have stayed,  :smt002.

If it had been HMB or santa cruz I would have been more concerned about the boats.

Basically I am not a fish or die kind of guy, it's supposed to be fun after all. If it's not, for whatever
reason, I head in.

In this case it was marginal and once I got out there I realized I was on the wrong side of the margin.

Thanks for the report John...  I am curious about fishin there, wanna hit it up someday.  Just not all by my lonesome!   Have to keep an eye out, or PM ya to see what you're up to, one of these days.  Or an XJ-whatever, either way.

I decided to pass on it this morning - hasn't seemed very fishy this weekend, except maybe at Elk?  Guess we'll find out in a couple hours.
