I got a 2019 Hobie Revo 16. It has the common vantage seat you see on all new Hobie kayaks. The seat connects to the kayak via a round bar mounted to the kayak via black plastic brackets.

When I pedal, I can feel small (1/8 inch) movements between the seat and the brackets (only if I put my finger there). I don’t mind, but it makes a really annoying noise. Like something is banging the kayak. The seat is properly installed, and the noise is present only when I move my legs for pedaling.

I have a feeling the seat and the brackets are not properly aligned. The seat has 4 points of contact, and since they are not on the same plane, the seat moves and makes noise.

But I could be wrong. Did anyone have a similar issue? How to fix it?

I recently knocked the spindle out of the bracket, so I had to remove one of the brackets to get the spindle back in.  I had a hard time getting the teeth engaged in the the same position on both brackets.  I would look to see if they are both set at the same position and the bar is level.  Thinking out loud, wondering if your spindle positioning on one side is one level off.  Hope that helps.

I was just looking at it today and I think you might be right. Will check
