I have this visibility flag pole that have light on top.  It can be set to constant on or blinking.  Blinking would have better battery life.  Are we allow to have blinking white light?

Flashing (blinking) is typically used for a visual distress signal, not conspicuity.  It depends on the flash rate, but steady lights typically indicate vessels, while flashing lights are typically used for distress or aids to navigation (or aircraft).

Nice meeting DIYLureJunky and bigmack at the launch!  Sounded like there were a few fish landed in the 25-30" range between 9 and 10 am.  Hope everyone continued to have luck!

Overall bite was slow on Saturday for rockfish and salmon.
Getting hits on the apex the last 3 times out there but was finally able to put fish in the boat.

Between green and red cans ~35ft down.
Circling bait balls around the green can ~25 ft down.

I ended up with 3 rock fish.  I caught it between the green can and the red can.  I was near the red can marked with #2.  I think there's a reef there with a bunch of kelp sticking out of the water.  I thought kelp would hold a bunch of fish, but not even a nibble around the whole kelp bed.  I was giving up and on my way back, I stopped between the red can and green can.  That's when I caught 3 rock fish.  Enough for fish tacos.  I gain a lot of confidence out in the water after the first trip.

Thanks :smt001 looking forward to seeing you guys out there. I’m in a blue passport and orange kangaroo pouch pfd.

Plenty of signs of salmon still out there and I’ll be out there a few more times before the season closes. Just hope we have some decent weather conditions.

Still really green to kayak fishing, wish I started sooner. These are fish people dream about catching and we’re fortunate to have them around in our backyard.

First few times i hooked up i didn’t have a feel for how big or tired the fish were, which resulted in jump or runs under the boat and spit hooks. My diver trip was too snug as didn’t deploy which made fighting the fish harder.

The last two i was more patient with: kept rod in the holder and peddled against the swell. Kept the fish away from boat and surface until i felt they were sapped. The net job’s the diciest part, gonna need a bigger net as it was like threading a needle on the bigger fish. The first just swam right in. Both unhooked themselves afterwards and i had to grip and cinch the net with my hand to prevent them from flopping out.

Do you guys mostly get bit trolling towards the west? Every single bite I’ve gotten was to the west. I guess this may be swell dependent, but against the main swell.

Nice goin Senko, you were the one I heard on the radio I think. 30" ? Just a few rockfish for me personally. When you say red and green can, I'm assuming the closest green can? I think there's a further one.
