Getting my son ready to join me this year and need to buy some more traps.  I am looking at these and wanted to know if anyone has experience using them.  Seem a little less cumbersome than the folding box traps.

I have two complete TR-632, drawstring, not the TR632a, hinge tending door, with leaded ropes, brass clips, floats, weights and bait bags in near perfect condition I would sell.  If that works, PM me and make an offer.  However, I'm live near Placerville, so not sure how we would meet up.  I'll take photos later and post them.

Hey, Ski Pro, if the Reefer man is not interested, I might be.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I would be interested if we were closer.  I will be heading to bodega at the end of November but that is still quite a bit out of the way on the trip from Fresno so I don’t think i can make it happen. I really appreciate it tho. All you nowhereman... So did you like them and would you go with them over the metal folding pots?  I just thought they would be a little easier to manage.  They are a lot more expensive than the metal pots but if they are easier, I would go with them.

Yes I like them.  I probably would go for the 'A' version opening but the draw string isn't really any problem.  They collapse and work well as designed.  Very easy for kayak use.
I'm selling because I'm getting out of kayaking.  Health reasons.  Just need to clean up the kayaks and gear before officially posting for sale, but figured if things worked out, I'd put those traps out there to ya.

Hey, Ski Pro, if the Reefer man is not interested, I might be.

Let me check with my NCKA fishing partners first.  I have two guys who have each other's back on the water and feel they should have first right of refusal.  If they don't want them, I'd sell them for $50 each set.  Everything is top of the line.  I am especially proud of the float set up.  I have a small float on the rope at the trap to keep the rope from fouling anything on the bottom.  The top float is adjustable for rope length and a way to lash up unused rope.  The leaded rope keeps prop motors from fouling with floating ropes many use on overnight soaks.

My plan is to still attend NCKA events, just that for the foreseeable future, I won't have the health to get out on the ocean and be assured I can self rescue.  So I'll be at Crab fest at least if you aren't in a hurry.  If you or my fishing partners don't want them, I'll probably gift them to the raffle if there is one this year.

No problem, and no hurry.

Sorry to hear that you are getting out of kayaking though. I'd always hoped that we could meet up at UVR for some massive macs someday...

I added two of the TR-632A (with the tending door) to my fleet last year. I only got them out twice but I like them so far. I have 4 or 5 of the TR-102Ws and the 632As are sturdier and seem like they should be less leaky than the 102Ws. Plus the coated frame will obviously resist corrosion better than the naked 102s.

I think I'll probably transition out of the 102s and pick up a few more 632As this season.

Thanks for the reply exhibita...  I think I am going to grab a couple of them.  They look much cleaner in the deck too.

For sure. Glad I could help - I quit procrastinating and just ordered 2 more - Cabela's had the best price with shipping I could find on the 632As -which was more than $20 more per trap than I paid last year.

2020 -the year that just keeps giving.

If you have a dicks sporting goods near you, they carry them and will match any online price.

Sorry to hear that, but glad you’ll still make it when the events start up again,

Aloha,
