Hello kayakers,
I am new but have been fishing many years.  Not really in the ocean, that is why I'm here.  I have an Old town Topwater kayak and most of the equipment needed. Just bought a downrigger.  Hope to meet some of you on the water.  I faithfully watch every video on YouTube and am a big fan of MooMoo and TLA.
I'd like to find some spots that are not too rough to launch. Will be coming from Sacramento.

Welcome, Julie

You might hold on using the downrigger until you get more comfortable ocean kayak fishing.
Also, make sure to replace the downrigger wire cable to the braided line for safety.  You want to able to cut the line easily if the line gets tangled at the bottom to prevent your kayak from getting flipped.

Thanks for the tip! I plan to use the downrigger mostly on lakes but will change to braid!
