I've been trying to decide on what kind of priest I wanted for a while.  With a new boat, I found the solution right under my nose, A piece of cannibalized graphite rod (the rod will be wrapped up soon...) an extra cork grip and $15 in brass and epoxy from OSH.  As a recovering Catholic, I was searching for a good name, when my wife suggested "Father Mahoney".  This sounded like the name of one of those Irish Priests from my Catholic School days, and so it is...

I present, in low-res cell phone pics....

If you're not accurate with that thing it looks like it will cause alot of suffering. Isn't the idea to dispatch them to the hearafter with one or two blows. Nothing is more humane than a wood bat IMO.

Accuracy is defiantly paramount, but I figure its safer than using a knife...  I'm not a fan of the bat because it doesn't seem to carry the mass I want and can require several hits (from witness on salmon party boats, where I resorted to a knife for my fish).  Still untested, if this proves inaccurate or inhumane, I will replace it with something else and equally homemade  :smt002
