Ended meeting up with Kevin And Sean yesterday for a little halibut fishing out of Richmond. Still a new bay fisherman on the kayak so it was nice to have experienced kayak anglers. Kevin ended up getting us some live bait and we fished for about 5 hours. Kevin had the first shaker butt and Sean a little later as well. I was marking a lot of bait throughout the day and pulled up some small anchovies with a sabiki that I tossed back.   I ended up losing one at the boat which looked to be a keeper. I was using a lamiglas Cg90DR and the action on the rod was too fun. My sliding octopus hook ended up catching my net which prevented me from being able to net the fish. So I risked it and tried to pull the halibut on board but he spit the hook. Rookie maneuvers. Oh and I lost my oakleys in the process as well. All in all still a fun day with good conversations. We will definitely be hooking up again in the future to rip some lips. Hopefully my next post will be about getting some meat on the deck. Thanks guys!

Couldn't have fished with a couple of better guys...Sean eats raw Hali for breakfast and Kevin is the underground guru of the area...sorry bout' your loss yet you seem stoked to have scored mega action as I would have been as well...so close yet so far... :smt006

“I’m going fishing.”  They said, “we will go with you.”
