Slow bleed...they’ll get their money, very familiar with living in a “fee” state...
“I’m going fishing.”  They said, “we will go with you.”

Public waterways feel less and less "public" everyday.

Oregon has required an Aquatic invasive species permit for several years. Nonmotorized craft over 10’ in length was $7/year.

That changed this year, and now it’s $20/year and it’s called a waterway access permit. They are supposed to earmark money from the permit specifically for noNmotorized watercraft access and in fact started a project in Tillamook Bay, although that project is now on hold for covid reasons.

If this works as intended it should be a good thing, and it’s certainly nothing new to have to pay a fee in Oregon for water access for kayaks.

It is bullshit, but it’s not any different than our quagga mussel inspection fees.

It doesn’t apply to saltwater, does it??

Yes it applies in all state waters. The tilllimook access They want to build is a salt water access.

Mojo can fill in more info when he sees this thread I’m sure.
