Anyone here have this Hoodoo Tempest 120P?  Looks affordable and the weight of the kayak is about right for me to handle.  They are out of stock right now, and I'm planning to get one when it's available.  There's not much YouTube videos review on it, so I'm a little hesitant.

Seems everything including reviews ties back to the company itself.  I wouldn't buy anything I didn't get to tryout, they say they started in 2019 so maybe completely legit and just too new for much to be out there.

I think hesitant is the right answer.

I think I'll spend a little bit more and get a Perception Pescador Pilot instead.  At least it's a known brand.  This is going to be my 1st kayak, so I don't want to break the bank just in case I don't enjoy kayak fishing.  If I like it, then I'll upgrade and save this for a buddy kayak.

With what you've said so far, I'd recommend used, most people tend to change/upgrade their first kayak in just a couple years. This is a bad time for checking things out, no big demo days and such.

Good Luck,

used for me has been great. and I too changed my set up after a year and then again.

I bought a used paddle kayak not really a fishing one, then got a used hobie, I've since traded that hobie for a different used hobie, and bought an other used hobie.. :) they're great for me at least.

Craiglist did not have any pedal drive kayak for sale.  I'm looking for a 12 footer with pedal drive.

Be careful it’s a sellers market right now. With pedal kayak it takes patience and constantly looking to have any chance. Good luck!

I set up an email alert for craigslist for hobie kayaks, makes it easier.

but the best place is the classifieds here. when they get put up they're gone fast, but they're the best deals.

I ended up ordering the Tempest 120P.  I couldn't find a used pedal drive kayak, and did not want to wait any longer.  There is a facebook group for this specific brand, and it seems like the owners are happy with their kayaks.  From the tracking info, I should have it by Wednesday 9/9.  I've also ordered a kayak cart, fish finder, vhf radio, rod holders, kayak visibility kit.  As the saying goes, BOAT, break out another thousand.  I still need to get a wet suit.
