Hello!

New to the forum and pretty green to kayak fishing. I've been living in Alameda for about a year now and I've fished out at the Rockwall a dozen times or so. Had some decent luck at the beginning of the season with Halibut but haven't gone lately. I have taken it up to the fresh water lakes in the mountains too for trout, Silver Lake specifically. I have hobbie with a good amount of toys added on. I'm hoping to try some salmon soon but didn't want to venture out in the big water solo xD. I'd love to try my luck anywhere in the bay or close by like, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Bolinas, Monterey, Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Bodega Bay, Pt. Arena, Albion, Fort Bragg, Ocean Cove, Santa Cruz Happy to be apart of the community!

Hey AlloftheCats, Welcome to NCKA, You may want to use protected launches like HMB, Timber Cove Etc., even experienced kayakers can flip in the surf.

You and I both are from Alameda. If you ever see someone fishing the rock wall on a paddle board or a tiny red sit inside kayak, that would be me. I am expecting a Red Revo 16 soon so I would love to try big waters with ya sometime.

Welcome!

Welcome!  I didn't realize that cats liked water.  It looks like you're fairly well outfitted on your Hobie.  That's good.  Be safe and have fun.
