I've been using a Nikon Prostaff 7 for years.  Primarily for golf, but have taken it for some limited hunting to range areas.  Been very happy with it and its reliability.

it has been awhile, but the last range finder I bought was a low cost bushnell at Big 5.  It was used for golf but was a hunting model.  My experience was that there is a higher markup on golf range finders v. hunting range finders.  Bought it about ten years ago and my son still uses it for golf.

If you have to go new I got one from bass pro made by SIG I think it’s a 1200. It has the red light up display. Very helpful to read right as shooting time is expiring. I ordered it the day after I couldn’t read my bushnell in the late evening staring at a bull across a canyon. I like my bushnell better for archery hunting because it showed me both distances very easily both the line of sight and the adjusted for slope with just a click to go back and forth. The sig takes a little more buttons to go back and forth but for rifle season it seems much better.
