Donner Lake

Going up Sunday for a few days, both the boat and the kayaks.  Been long since we used the yaks.  Any hints?  Everyone I know says China Cove for fish.  And bringing the crawdads traps.  Staying in the campground.  Will be in a cirrus camper and 2019 Denali gmc red.

Hey, would love a report? I'm heading up this next weekend so wondering how you fished? Did you troll on Donner?

Anyone know if you have to get the kayak inspected by local officials before launching at Donner or Stampede?

*All motorized watercraft STILL require an inspection before launching into Donner Lake. Non-motorized watercraft are also capable of transporting aquatic invasive species. It is highly recommended to complete a self-inspection on all watercraft.

^^^^^^^^^^This and trap some minnows to tip the jig. Just fish when you mark them. If you troll, bounce the bottom, but be careful. Yes China is a good area and you need to watch the ledge with your down rigger.

Also, frozen Herring Carolina rigged and let them chew it. Thread the Herring and slowly drag it around where you mark fish.
