Hi everyone, I'm psyched to become a member of this group and help strengthen the community. So much great information and energy here!

I got hooked on kayak fishing when a buddy of mine took me out in Carmel. A few rockfish and fish tacos later, I can say that I'm in it for life!

I found out about NCKA through MooMoo's and TLA's videos on youtube. I then met Ed at Bay Tackle who is also a member and was super generous in sharing tips and recommendations for around here. He encouraged me to join this community, so here I am.

I'm slowly buying all the safety gear (thanks for all the helpful info on this), and am currently using an inflatable kayak while i save up for a proper one.

I'm currently going out around Berkeley flats, and am looking to check out Richmond, Rockaway, Half Moon Bay, ARW, San Pablo Bay and so on. If anyone's open to a relatively new kayak angler tagging along, I'd be very grateful. I have experience in the ocean (surfing/fishing), and have fished since I was a kid back home in Brasil. I'm a quick learner and am very into learning the ins and outs, being safe out there, and as I said adding to this already great community.

So shoot me a note if you're thinking of going out soon. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Cheers!
Fernando

Welcome Fernando! Post 9 more times so you have access to the classifieds - lots of nice yaks show up for sale here, usually for great prices. When you get your safety gear together, hit me up if you want to check out Tomales or the Sonoma Coast sometime.

That's great to hear, will definitely scour the classifieds soon enough. Thanks so much for the offer, I'll definitely take you up on that. I should have my safety gear in order this week, will shoot you a PM. Hear great thinks about the Sonoma coast, am looking forward to it!

If you are considering the ocean Fernando make sure to outfit yourself with immersion gear. Especially if you plan on going out in an inflatable.

Welcome to NCKA.

Great advice, thank you Alex. I definitely plan on wearing a wetsuit out there. I might wait on the ocean until i have a proper kayak, i do realize it's probably a kooky idea to take an inflatable out there haha :)
