Have dreams of heading south for tuna. Anyone have a gently used two speed they’d like to sell? 50lb braid capacity over 500 yards ideal. Thanks!

I have a few reels (Talica 16 2spd, Avet HX, Makaira 20 etc) but I think they might be overkill for what you need.

Check the Bloodydecks classifieds.

I have a smaller Avet, but I think it has closer to 300 yards of 50lb. 500 yards is a little over-kill for the local tuna, unless you get into the bigger sized BFT. For the bigger models I'd go with a Penn Fathom 40.

My Talica 10 has gotten the most use on all of the long range trips I've been on by far, followed by my Lexa 400s that I use for surface iron and Madscads.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m putting my reel search on hold for the moment.
