Hey all,

Just picked up my first 2011 hobie revolution 13.

How is everyone routing the cables for their fish finders?

Being my first hobie, I haven’t started drilling holes just yet.

Haven’t gotten a fish finder or battery set up yet, but looking to plan it out.

I have a 2015 Revo 13 and I wire my cables through the side stowage pocket area using the hull wiring kit.

Here is a simple non hole drilling solution. 2012 Hobie. Worked well for eight years. Battery and transducer sit inside boxes made of plastic cardboard and waterproof glued with marine goop to yak hull. If worried about water on battery insert in plastic bag, twist tight round the cord and wire shut. Transducer is sort of visually obscure, but it sits in it's own box and a piece of foam squeezes it tight to the hull bottom. Two cords run out the hatch. Hatch seal has enough give to press down, fit tight, and seal. And that's it. Works fine. No holes.

thats perfect! i was curious if the hatch would allow wires to go through without pinching the wires and will look into that! thanks all!

I sent you a picture of my thru hull wiring kit on my revo, I really like the placement in the mesh pocket for my FF. keeps the cables well, and looks pretty okay. reaches the FF well is the most important part I guess.

possible alternative for the transducer.

I drilled right next to the side mesh and threaded the chord through the mesh from a Wilderness Systems thru hull kit (like $20 on amazon) and sealed with sealant. Works like a charm, and i just store the extra cable in the mesh when I transport. Hooked up to battery in the front hatch, no issues.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish

The Hobie hatch will definitely not pinch the wires. It might create a small leak, but it would be insignificant. Having said that, I like to drill holes in my kayaks, just to show them who's boss...
