Stumbled onto this while YouTube browsing. I watched episode 5 first and found it hilarious b/c of the “ABC Wide World of Sport” like commentary. But then found the other episodes 1-4 really fascinating. Some amazing footage and a cool throwback to vintage salmon vids. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Great stuff.

Love the use of the term "dog" too - I use that often when a fish is staying down.

I love salmon fishing.

A 71 pounder on a 17 pound line.  That’s just awesome.

Very cool, thanks for sharing ...
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

That is awesome. I was almost expecting “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat”, or at least see Curt Gowdy show up...

Damn, you don't see a Grumman Goose very often.
If you're not living on the edge - you're taking up too much space!

I lived in BC before moving to the US and all I can say is that the fishing there is insane. The Halibut are giant. You need to shoot them before you bring them on the boat. The Salmon is everywhere. The lakes, the rivers, it’s endless.

Ok :-) I plan one day to take my father in law to Nootka sound. I lived on Vancouver Island, in Victoria, and my friends told me about how wild it is up there. You can see bald eagles tearing off salmon from the ocean and bring it to the beach, and bears too.
A family friend went to the lodge there and said it was a world class fishing experience. Check it out

Thanks for reposting. Is it only me, or the Japanese guy looks like Tacoo’s (Ourdoor chef life) brother  :smt006

On the 3rd episode he’s like “who makes these reels Ted?”
And Ted goes “those are made in Japan”
And he goes “oh, Japanese are very smart people”
