I've never heard it called that, by you are correct.  I have always heard it called Great White Triangle.

fun fact ..every year Monterey Bay Aquarium and a chosen university head out to Tomales Point from Sept to Feb and tag GWS`s....next time I`ll post a pic of the warning they post about entering the water ..hee hhe heee
