Okay, not a recipe, but I thought I'd share this. I recently bought a few cans of surstromming from a company in Sweden. This was before the lockdown and they arrived just in time.
Surstromming is fermented, rotting herring. The cans are bulging from the pressure when you open them, and they will spray putrified herring juice all over you if you don't open them in a bucket of water.

But peel the meat from the bones and mix it with potatoes, onions, and sour cream, and it's quite good!

I also bought a couple durians today for an outside gathering tomorrow with family. Most of us in the family are fans of this wonderful-smelling fruit.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

You are really owning the market on flavorful foods.

I read your other, awesome post on making fish sauce at home, and I can imagine my wife saying some choice words if I made fish sauce, brought a durian home (the least scary of the three, I guess), and opened a can of fermented herring.

Good to see you eating well during the lockdown.
