Kayaking upstream on the American River? (Pedal Drive)

Hi all, I'm wondering if it's going to be a challenge going up stream on the Lower American, near Watt. Never took out the kayak in the American and I'm just wondering what I would be in store for. Let's say the conditions are calm, little to no wind. Kayak has a pedal drive.

I haven’t done it in a long time and I don’t remember what the flows were, but there was once or twice where I didn’t think I would be getting back up to where I started 

At any rate check the flows and make a note of it. Then next time you can know if it’s higher or lower and will be easier or harder.
