I am not sure if I should ban blobfish, or promote him to the 1000-post peeps board.

(Just kidding)

No Im not.

yes I am.

In the meantime, look at this halibut I caught Wednesday! Code3 came down and we hit the usual spot near Santa Cruz harbor.  this one bit super soft like a kingfish. But I am so needy, I played it like a flatty and got rewarded!  Great to see Code3 ad super great to get up early and get out on the the salt.

yea but if I pee in the scupper hole, any pee that doesn't immediately get out of there I have to deal with. I don't want no pee on my feet

It's like the T rex theory from jurrasic park. If I pee in the water, then the shark won't come near me because the pee of another predator should cause it to go the other way..  :smt002

A quick follow up on this topic.  According to the Corp of Engineers there have been over 50 drownings on that lake, most of them without a PFD. 50 is high number for a small lake in TN IMHO.  Thanks to everyone who posted on this. with the advent of Walmart yaks, we will see more and more people out there who have no business being out there, and unfortunately the Grim Reaper will be there to educate them on their failure. That is the sad part of this sport, now that the Wally World and other stores carry them, with not a soul in there who could give them good useful information. I see this as trend in the future as people will Wally yaks into places they don't really belong.

I wish that I didn’t feel compelled to agree, that the prospect was more positive. The issues are real, you’re right, SK.

I totally agree SK. I am an avid cluts and will fall off my kayak at least twice a year. I go no where without my PFD on.
I also practice reentry a lot since I do go in.

I just purchased a Big Fish 108 and jumped out of it so see how to get back in. Let me tell you staring at a kayak that sits that high in the water gets one to think how fast can one get back in. I need to try different ways to get back in since I had to "walrus" my way back into it. Almost like reentry into a real boat but without a ladder. I may have to tip it almost to the point of turning it over and let its ability to float throw me back inside of it. It is so wide and tall, I can't reach across it. It is either that or do a stern entry and push it down. Anyway. I really need to practice both ways with a spotter

Some people are naïve as to how unforgiving the ocean can be, liike my ex-wife.
