Hey everyone. I've been lurking for months reading and absorbing everything I can about the fishery in this state. Long time fisherman (from Florida...but don't hold that against me), slightly lesser time boater (also from Florida but totally hold that against me) and even lesser time in a big plastic ridable bobber.

Once the new kayak arrives (damn crap pandemic *shakes fist at sky*) I'll be tooling along the big cold blue down here in Ventura and Los Angeles but with every hope once the world settles down into the new-new normal to making my way up to check out the NorCal scene as well.

Thanks for already keeping me informed and entertained...There's a lot of great info here and I'm glad I found this forum.

Tight lines (or whatever you kids say these days) but now get off my lawn.

Great intro, BMP.

What kind of big plastic ridable bobber did you get?
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Hi GVjr welcome to NCKA. I hope to go south to fish sometime for tuna, wahoo, and dorado. But I won’t be on my kayak.

I pre-ordered a Vibe Shearwater 125 back in January. At the price point they offered, I really liked the option of switching up power options and the fact that it's (albiet barely) light enough to still get on the roof of my Subaru.

Ideally I wanted to get into an Outback, but the perfect storm of available funds at the time, storage costs for a trailer to tow it around with, and the injuries sustained in my youth keeping me from even considering trying to get 100lbs of dry boat above my shoulders (seriously kids, don't be like me when I was your age...it ALWAYS catches up to ya) pretty much sealed the deal on the Shearwater. Plus I dig the Caribbean blue color a lot. So it had that going for it from the jump.
