Looks like we are going to spend more time that we think at home and I'm seriously considering replacing my original furnace with a heating/AC unit and looking for quotes.

I would definitely prefer using a local smaller guy and ideally someone from NCKA community.

Please DM me if you are interested or know anyone.

I'm located in San Jose / Cambrian and the house is about 1550 sqft.

Cheers

I know a local guy but not sure what he’s doing at the moment, if like other trades might be pretty busy. I may see him this morning

Wish I had known you can combine units, although ours cost a fortune just for air conditioning and the extra plumbing that went with it

The guy I mentioned ant do it re he’s licensed only for repair at this point

Sounds like an expensive project but he says with the right contractor and some sort of rebate around $4k, forget if he said from city or state I’ll ask him in a bit

Has to be licensed contractor and have inspection process for the rebate

Thanks for the info. Would appreciate if he could recommend someone. I reached out to a couple I found on Yelp

Sounds like a good DIY project. Think how much money you would save that could be put to better use, such as buying kayak fishing gear.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

I thought about diy but not for very long, might’ve saved something like $5k. Estimates for our place went from $10-25k

Probably not rocket science I just have too much on my plate so wisely farmed it out

These guys installed mine 13 years ago.
They did a great job and never had any issues.
Just get at least 3 quotes and include them as one.

It was a long time ago but my house is always the right temp when we want it to be.

They were named SVS when I used them.
