My name is Will. Born and raised in Bay Area and relocating to Sacramento in a few weeks. I love to surf fish around SF bay, but not that I'm relocating to Sac I need to discover new fishing skill. Last few weeks been reading/youtubing all about Kayak fishing and I'm sold and going all in. Most likely going to buy topwater pdl 120. Joined this site to meet other kayakers in Sac area as well to learn kayak fishing for stripers and salmon from rod/reel setup to the basic of trolling.

Welcome aboard Will. Let the addiction begin. Good idea to make a list of the safety gear you need.

I would buy a hobbies instead.  Think you'll be much happier.  I've got a predator pdl and like the Revo 13 much better.

Revo 13 if I can get one used. Little out price. I was considering hobie passport 12 but I like the back pedaling on the pdl.

Welcome to inland fishing.  MooMoo is the resident expert in these waters.  You would be wise to watch his videos and read his posts.

Very nice option. My predator does that.  So does the Revo. But have to pull lever on Revo. You can get demo revos for 1700+.  Just hang around and one will turn up.  Mine did.

Also if you plan on ocean fishing the passport is a little short.

No plan to fish the ocean. Just planning to stay local in sac and delta. I prefer surf fishing in the ocean, but things can change.
