If you want to see a pretty bizarre vampire movie, watch Andy Warhol's "Dracula." Famous line: "She must be a virgin" (pronounced "voygin," and unfortunately she wasn't). And if you like that movie, check out Andy Warhol's "Frankenstein," another pretty bizarre movie.  Famous line: "To truly know life, you have to f__ it in the gall bladder."

for sheer nutzo fun you can't go wrong with the early episodes of "Z Nation".

Came in here to post this.

Zombieland is always a fun one.
Contagion, not quite zombie, but extremely relevant.
Shaun of the dead.
Warm bodies

Shaun of the Dead and Warm Bodies are just the best! I'd throw Army of Darkness in as well!

for the sake of completionism, I must mention Zombeavers.

While I have sat through every disgusting frame of that movie...twice...I cannot recommend viewing it...without sitting through the closing credits, which simply recap the move in its entirety.

so funny, so gross.

a freaky film with a similar story, but that is not funny:

the poverty in the Manhattan apartment building makes it all the more gnarly

One Cut of the Dead.  <-- Japanese zombie movie shot in one, long cut!  Weird, more Japanese oddball.  Closer to comedy, not horror at all.

I also second Train to Busan.  There is a cultural relationship between Koreans and trains that I don't understand (e.g. Snowpiercer), but it's a good setting for 28-days Later type zombies.

That Zombeavers credit song is real special.
