Hello everyone I recently started kayak fishing last year. Only place I have been to is Lafayette Reservoir. Looking to explore different places and meet fellow kayakers. So far I am paddling a Perception Pescador Pro 10 but will be upgrading to a Hobie Outback very soon. Looking forward to learning from the community.

Welcome. You made a great choice to go with a Hobie. Hope to see you on the water...

Yeah Demo it, and I was sold. Just waiting for it to come in. I guess Papaya Orange is a popular color.

Heyo! Welcome to the site and to the plastic navy. Im new to the site as well and way out of your area so Im no real help there but Ive fished from a kayak for 20yrs. If I can offer anything just keep safety a first priority and always look for ways to be a minimalist (at least for a time to sort what fishing styles you like and helps you fish well from your
ride. A kayak is no place for clutter especially when fishing from one so keep things simple best you can. Have a great season and adventures beyond.

Berkeley?  Welcome...regardless of your awesome new purchase...get in that flats water and get a report...post and show us a flattie...you'll be stoked to get us some gps...I hear the Hali's are showing all up and down that zone...I might be exaggerating but I think not, we need you to get out and drift that dead chovy and report what you find...don't risk your life but have fun and geeturdun... :smt006

Right on fellas! I feel the love.

My buddy that lives close to it told me Lafayette looked like it would be killer for bass fishing off kayaks. I just haven't done it since i live in the valley and already commute to the bay. Do you fish for bass there? any luck?

I usually hit New Melones. Big lake, but do good there some days.

Cheers!

No, I don't bass fish. Just going for trout and occasionally catch a catfish when I do. Easy enough lake to get around in size wise.

I purchased my Hobie Outback 2020 this past January. Stable and easy to stand in. I use mine for Salt and Freshwater fishing. Plan to fly fish on fresh water.
