I've been reluctant to drill a hole through which to run the power and transducer cables to my FF. I have been running them through the bow hatch, but the boat takes on water sometimes and I think the cables might be compromising the seal.

I just found the Hobie Thru Hull kit. Is that the solution I'm looking for? Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

There's a couple different kits, one with 3 places for wires, and one with a single passageway for wires ( can be a double wire passage)

that kit is pretty much the standard for all hobie now. I never really used the other slots (the one Penguin mentioned). One slot with a 2-cable adapter/grommet is all I use on my lowrance FF.

Through hull all the way, and I’m a big fan of the Hobie fitting. If you get the fitting close to the FF, you only have a short section of exposed wires. It’s a cleaner installation and doesn’t leak.

Of course, once you drill the first hole, the second hole is that much easier to do.

Through hatch for me.
Easier to clean making for almost no corrosion issues.
Can use the same set up in multiple kayaks.
Take the FF out of the mount quickly and stash it for beach entry and exit.
Less holes in the kayak.

thru hull kit is awesome

In addition to FF wires, I have another one that I run a CamelBak tube thru. That gives me an endless supply of water that occupies no deck space.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...
