Okay I'm sure someone has asked this before. But to save time scrolling through older post I have a question. Today was my first kayak trip and it was amazing. However after 4-5hrs on the water nature began to call. Now I was on a really calm river today but standing up still presented some balance and maneuvering issues. Luckily I had a Gatorade bottle with me how ever it was only a 16oz bottle needles to say it was not enough. Question what do you uses on your trips?
We're going to need a smaller boat.

Rather than scrolling you can search. It’s much faster.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

The first time this happened to me, I was sturgeon fishing. After a few hours, a thermos of coffee went in and it had to come out. There was no pulling anchor and paddling to shore - this was an urge that I'd been holding back and the dam was about to burst. Dump out the rest of the coffee, piss in the thermos, throw thermos in the trash. Problem solved.  :smt044

I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube and have never seen this mentioned. I figured this would be an essential gear. Well at least we had some bottles.

The red thing looks a lot cheaper than a thermos, thanks guys. You know it's the small things people dont mention on these kayak video's.

I always go in the drive hole.  With a dry suit on, there's nothing exposed.  No wimmen screaming, no men cursing.

As get older, I need to pee more frequently, and going to shore to pee is often not an option.  I carry a small plastic gasoline funnel with a foot of plastic hose jammed on its small end, and use it to pee down my drive hole or scupper hole. It allows me to pee inconspicuously while sitting securely in my kayak seat, and is the best $5.00 I ever invested in kayak gear. I attach the funnel to something on my kayak with about a foot and a half of thin cord with a clip on the end so I won't loose it. If I'm near other boaters or houses on shore, I lay an item of clothing on my lap to cover up what I'm doing.

Ha ha. Yeah, cost wise, I wouldn't recommend the Thermos method. That was a one time event where I was caught unprepared. Now, if i dont have a bottle, it's honestly easier to aim for the footwell and let it drain through the scupper hole. A few splashes of water in the footwell when you're through and you're good as new.

I once saw someone pee right down their fish measurer to direct the flow over the side of the kayak. Gave a whole new meaning to the term Hawg Trough.  :smt044

Bottle?  We don't need no stinking bottle!  that is what scupper holes are for.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

You can't make this stuff up. I never realized a Hawg trough could be so multi purpose.

Whip it out and hang it over the side :smt044 Gotta go... Go! #2 a bit more problematic butt, that's been addressed elsewhere....
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
