I can't believe they are still doing those inspections and turning you away due to a little water. Gosh anything to separate you from your hard earned dollars.
Since I am in Texas I can go fish anytime I want in 9 ponds in my neighborhood. One is 75 yards from my front door and I threw in two dozen black bass with the genetics to get huge. The pond has a lot of food and my fish eat and have doubled in size. Hoping one of my girls is about 8 pounds by now. I see them every now and then jumping at dragonflies because that is what they did at their home lake. Fun to see them do it when its warm. Freaks out the neighbors.
I do miss the variety of fishing there, but the cost of fishing for a day , for me anyway. is not worth how much one must shell out.

What really???  They didn't even touch my kayak, although I did explain to him it had been in my garage for about 4 years since it's last outing.  But I actually had to wash and scrub it, and then spend a few hours shoving towels inside and all around to dry out the inside, but then they didn't even look at it
