Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie from Milpitas who got hooked on the sport when a friend recommended a deal on a $50 inflatable kayak. Have taken it to the local lakes and all the way to Mammoth Lakes, and now Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay.

Lots to learn about the sport and would appreciate advice on what to get for a real angler kayak.

Would love to join others on the outings.

Welcome wchoe  :smt006

Btw I wouldn't recommend using that for the ocean if it's not with the drop stitching kind like the ones in the newer inflable SUP. Safety should really be consider here.

Best thing would be to test paddle a few plastic sit on top kayaks. If you've already been to Santa Cruz and Half Moon bay then you could go to either Kayak Connection or Half Moon Bay kayak co and they'll set you up with initial suggestions for your height, weight etc.
Then look at kayaks in the 13-15ft range for the ocean.
It may also help you to take an entry level sit -on-top kayak class to get the correct basics on paddle stokes and rescue safety.
