Happy New Year folks. Took my kayak out and launched out of Antioch again. Threw a white chatterbait + chartreuse swimbait trailer around a large flat next to the san joaquin channel and hit west island's point - all for zilch. I'm struggling to locate these stripes, and any feedback very much welcome.

Can't complain though, the weather was fantastic for January.

Time fished - 11- 4
Location - Antioch - see attachment
Weather - sunny / cloudy
Wind - relatively strong in the afternoon

Good try! I’ve never fished the delta so I have no suggestions for you, but hopefully you will get it figured out soon!

Watch you meter and consider fishing deeper holes with spoons for this time of year. Also try crack o dawn.

You need to fish the north side along Sherman. The bass are in shallow chasing bait around Sherman. I’d throw a big swim bait and If it’s flat calm a big top water lure. The chatter bait will just get you dinks and maybe a black bass here and there.

Are you going for more numbers or size?

If for the bigger fish as DeltaYakR recommended go with large swimbaits, I use to do well on a 6" Big Hammer.  If you want numbers, hard to beat a jerkbait or an Alabama Rig.  Fish the channels with water flowing in/out of Sherman Lake area.  Water movement was key and keep moving till you find them.

There's lots of striper hanging out in Big Break. Early in the AM you can catch em in the mouth of the little slough that runs from the marina -> main river, and as the day progresses moving out into the big flat and blind casting will get you a few bites. White swim jigs are the ticket.
Smoke memes everyday.

thanks for the tips y’all. Never caught a Striper from a kayak or on artificials so I’m excited, to say the least. Will keep going out there until it happens!
