The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

Saw a few friends this morning at a local spot
Regarding Mavericks...
One said excitedly, “I’m going!”
The other calmly said, “I’m going to watch”

10’@20sec can be fun to watch
Davenport Landing got huge at times during conditions like these,

Where’s some of your favorite spot to watch large surf?

Duncan's Landing at the north end of Sonoma Coast State Beach. When the surf is really up, it's a great spot to park and just watch the waves from the car (unless you want to get out and get wet). Usually it's just sea spray that ends up hitting the onlookers, but during the really big storms in January 2017, waves were actually landing on the cars parked in the gravel lot.
