New to the area and this is my first full crab season in Sonoma County. So far I’ve spent a fair amount of time at the usual haunts in Bodega and Tomales Bays, but I’m curious if there are any other good spots for Dungeness in the area. I’m interested in catching crab sure, but I’d like to check out some new spots as well just for a change of scenery during the winter months. I’m just ok at surf launches so nothing too gnarly. I’ve spent most of my time on the salt with my uncle and other family but since we’re all just down the road from Doran that’s pretty much the main spot.

In regards to the Tomales area, Nick's Cove.  Have you had luck there this season?  It seems that dungeness have been sporadic in the Bodega area.  I'm wondering if Tomales is having any better luck?

When I was at lawson's landing in late November I couldn't snare a dungee for the life of me from shore, I didn't drop off any pots but I didn't hear much success from anyone, this weekend at Doran and there was a lot more crab in pots/snares.
