Cape Mendo - 11/2/19

Saturday, November 2nd was such a Cape Day! I crashed at midnight the night before and was slightly bummed that I wasn't going midnight crabbing - first time in a long time that I've missed the opener. The forecast called for an offshore run, so Domenic and I hit it. Not a breath of wind all day, and the fish bit pretty well. Crab would come soon enough.

Both.   

It was my bait.  I leave a herring on there if it still looks decent, and one like this may even stay on deck in case all the others get devoured and I still want to fish.

Could not agree more! Love watching them swim back down.
Here's my friend Ejler with a beauty, his first fish of 2019 - caught on his third cast - just before he slid her back into the sea. This was around 40 inches, caught in about 25 feet of water back in July.
