Mickfish's report got me itching to target the flatties again in my "back yard". iwindsurf is calling for minimal winds tomorrow and Wednesday evening and wunderground is calling for "managable" winds both days, so I think I'm going to give it a shot, small NW swell on Tuesday and small mixed swell on Wednesday.

I'm game for either (or both) days, but I work 'til 2:30PM both days.

Anybody down? I'm gonna throw the net for shiners or smelt for a little bit, if that doesn't produce I'll use frozen 'chovies.

Campbell Cove?   like what time?
Aiming only Halibut?  How about Salmon or Rockfish?  The report was good, but they're still far south (10 mile beach)... but the water is pretty green so you might have shot!?

OK - I'm at least gonna make the drive out there this afternoon. I don't get off work until 3:00PM today, but am gonna go home at lunch and pack up my gear. Should be in the Bodega area no later than 4:00PM.

Will probably stop at Lucas Wharf to try and net some bait, if that doesn't work I'll try Tides Wharf, and then maybe Spud Point...but I don't want to waste too much time trying to net bait. Plus, with the high evening tide the harbour might be socked in with floating eelgrass.

Still debating on whether to pay the $6 and launch from the base of the Doran Jetty or launch from Contaminated (Campbell) Cove. Any recommendations, Mike?

Naoaki - I may bring some RF gear, but I'm not going to chase salmon.

If anyone wants my number send me a PM.

Sent you a PM. I spent too much time trying to net bait yesterday and didn't get out. If the wind stays down I'm definitely going this afternoon.

Did the wind stay down while trying to make bait?  it was blowing like a tornado on the east bay side!

Yeah it did pick up a little bit, but was blowing from the South, so if I would've launched from Doran Park as planned the wind would have been pushing me towards the beach, which is fine with me. Today should be identical to yesterday. Gonna bring a sabiki this afternoon since I saw some baitfish yesterday, but they were out of castnet range.

Also gonna bring some fishtraps to throw at the jetty if the 'buts aren't cooperating.

I just got back...  :smt009
Brian & I went out to whistle buoy this morning cuz some people got some salmon yesterday.  The water was pretty green & lots of bait were there.  We trolled pretty hard, but I just hit & that's it...  No rockfish at head area either...
The report was great & a lot of people got limit before noon, but they were around 10 miles beach to Pt. Reyes in Tomales.
I actually might go back w/ my friend's Zodiac tonight & tomorrow morning w/ six pack...
I really wanna get some salmon for BBQ this Sat...
