Jim,

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make this trip - but I would like to make a small personal donation - how can I do this?

I lost two loved ones (My Dad and my sister) to Cancer, I'd like to help even if I can't make it.

I hope some NCKA'ers can do the same.

Of course another option is to win the auction for the Trident and then come down to SD to pick it up and spend a little extra time fishing.

Hi Jim,
I have just paid up for the tourney, both for myself and my son Walker(Slowmo). We actually had planned on coming down all along, but with a kayak tourney here in Santa Cruz on the 9th... kind of hard to leave the simplicity of your own back yard. But after reading the posts above we decided to support the cause and  signed up, but will fish the tourney in SC.
On second thought, maybe we bomb on down Friday night and fish La Jolla Sat. then bomb back up to fish Santa Cruz Sunday!! Crazy thought, just might do that, in fact I think I will work to make that happen.
I hope as  NCKA newbies Walker and I are not alone in flying the "colors" of large nets for the NorCal community, it would just not be right. Heck, we don't even have NCKA T-shirts to wear and show the NorCal pride.
Although newbies up here, not a newbie to La Jolla cove/shores: from the mid sixties to the early 70's my high school buddies and I surfed, dove, and fished there on an almost daily basis, even being employed by the Beach & Tennis Club for a couple of summers to hunt sting rays to extinction off the "Club's" beach so no well healed "heals" came to harm (.25 cents per ray, we thought it big $ since gas was only around that much in the 60's). Pop a few abs out of the slide area to sell and we always had gas $. No preserve back then to stay out of, glad it is now though).
Anyway, very good chance you will see next week.
Steve

If I can get the trade I need ( I'll know tomarrow ), I'm thinking of leaving after work Friday morning from Sacramento, do the gig,

Head back to Santa Cruz for next days tourney, it was aprox 9.5 hrs drive from the East bay

 Keep in Touch!!!! ....

Dangling, Not likely that I will ever teach you anything regarding fishing, but I can help with the quotes: in the second row of icons (the one above all the funny faces) the next to the last on the right side (to the right of the #) click on it, it will insert a pair of brackets with the word quote in each bracket. Then scroll down to the message you want to get a quote from and copy what you want. Last thing is to paste what you copied in BETWEEN the "quote" brackets (not in the brackets). Hope that makes sense.

I'm also working on the "Bonzi run" and should know by tommorrow if it is a go. So, yeah, let's stay in touch. Maybe some others will decide to make the run also. I would really like to on the water off La Jolla next Sat., it would be like coming home for me (even after 25 years in Santa Cruz) and Sept. is one of the best beaches months of the year in S.D.

Bummed :smt011,

Can not pull this off without getting into lots of trouble @ work and buying a new truck....

Mine really overheated on the way home today :smt013

Sorry again Jim,  Have a great Tourney and will be there for sure next year... Promise!!!!

Is it possible to get shirts for those who contributed?

Maybe send a box to Mooch or myself or pick up when we come down in November for the Islander trip,

  Thanks........... Danglin

Well, darn....probably a good choice not to mess up work. I have room in my van for you if it was only the truck issue.
Slowmo and I might be in the same situation but for different reasons, just haven't thrown in the towel yet. Both Slowmo and my daughter have soccer games, but the big one is Salomo also has a mock SAT exam. Trying to reschedule that. Some other "issues" too, but I think those will fall into place. I'm pulling hard on this as I want Slowmo to experience a YT before the Islander trip and this is as good an excuse (and a good cause)as any.

Ya, poss. hitting you up for a ride was one of the factors, my truck has been acting up as of late,

but today, really jumped off the deep end :smt013

Other things also got piled up that need to be taken care of and work would get ugly.....

Next year,  going to make this a priority and factor in a family vaca or something like that,

Good luck,, Most Definetly a Good Time  :smt006 .......... Danglin
