capitola to pleasure Pt. 7/8/07

Launched at New brighton @ 8:30am, trolled around kelp beds out Pleasure. No halibut for me, saw a PB fisherman bring in a nice Butt off of Pleasure Pt. in 35ft of water.
Fished my way back towards Capitola and caught 3 brown RF on 6oz. bar tipped with squid. Landed @ 3:30. Weather was real nice all day, very light wind with 1ft swell. Very little chop made it look like good Halibut water, maybe next time. Kimo

thank goodness for brown rockfish, eh? maybe shallow and capitola was better
than off black's point today, hard to know, but at least you saw a 'but landed!

nice try!  That whole area seems like it should be fishier.

a PB had just trailered up at the capitola pier and was showing off a decent butt around 5 pm today.  Some lady was posing for pics with it.  Really had to fight the urge to yell out, "check out the lady with the nice BUTT!"

I was on a road bike with the lycra shorts and the boaters looked like reformed tough guys so let cowardice overcome my comedy.

other than that, the wharf looked quiet
