I hope some of you got out this weekend for the amazing weather!

Let me start with a reminder to check your rod guides. After 5 or so years one of the guides on my heavier trevala wore through. The third guide down. I’ve never had that happen before but 5 years of braid and lots of fishing will wear it out I guess.

Anyways with the weather so good I checked out a new to me spot on the coast north of the Bay Area. It was pretty far off the beaten path and I figured that it probably didn’t get much fishing pressure and was hopefully a good spot.

My hope sure paid off. I didn’t see another person on the water while I was there. The fish were plentiful and eager to bite. They all were released to swim another day

I caught numerous lings to the mid 30’s, and lots of rockfish to the high teens. Including more big blues and blacks than I have ever seen before with many of the blues going into the 16 inch range, none of the dinks that are common in the easier to get to spots.

Anyhow, pics to follow....

Sounds like an awesome trip.  Similar experience up north.  Those little blues make great live bait for the big lings.  Nice pics
