Update #2: Safety Flag w/ NCKA Logo for less than $10 12"x 8"

Like the idea, but I heard the in the fog sometimes the safety green shows up better ..... possibly a diagonal split in the two colors? Just a thought if your intrested.

I am not sure where can find a green and orange diagonal split flag.  If you find a qualified supplier, please let me know.  I will check with Flagline for the possibility and additional cost.

I would like one and it really doesn’t need the NCKA logo if there are issues with the use. I thought about attaching a flag like that to my 8’ sabiki rod but was worried that the jigging action might be perceived as a distress call.

I was considering attaching a safety flag to my spare fishing pole. 

If the logo is not available.  I might just place "NCKA" on the flag.

Who is objecting?  It's common practice in PNW and required to participate in their tournaments.  People are just saying dont use the NCKA logo without the permission of the person who owns the logo.

I don't think objecting is the correct description.  I read on some old posts where people prefer not using a safety flag for various reasons.  One reason I remember was to not attract boats to their fishing spots...

Agree. Sucks when people use other peoples artwork without asking permission.

What's the plan for flying the flag? On an extra fishing rod?  How would attachment work?

Appreciate all the comments re respecting trademark logo. It's an ethical thing mostly and our membership is special that way. (With the possible exception of CDM) In this instance I think it's fine to go ahead with a limited run.  Usually any NCKA branded stuff includes a small profit margin that can be used for PIF or other benefit. Maybe you could work that in as well, if possible?

CDM is definitely special. Just not in that way.

I’m also interested in attachment. Dune buggy whip or old CB antenna?  Rail or Scotty mount?  Scupper plug mount?  My current flag is only on a 4’ pole, I’d like something higher off the water.

My next planned step is to order several samples to test the flag to make sure it has high quality.

I plan to set a sample in the sun for a month to make sure the color does not fade.  If anyone wants to join the sample testing, please PM me.  The sample flag will be $7.00 each. 

Hope during the sample testing period we can come up with several mounting options.  I plan to use the brass grommets to attached to my 7' spare fishing pole.  I used mounted a similar flag to a fiberglass pole, purchased from Home Depot, and attached to 1-foot long PVC and inserted to my rear Hobie rod holder.  I am sure many people have great ideas and we can start a new subject regarding the installation.

Since this is a safety improvement item, my thinking was offer as lowest price possible to promote people to purchase and use.  When I get the final price we can discuss the best price and any profit margin.

After a month of the test period, I am hoping to have the logo flag by the of October.

I will keep you update of the progress.
