Plumber Recommendation Needed

Hi Guys,

I am looking for plumbing company to install a new lateral sewer line from the front yard clean out to the county sewer line.  This involves getting city and county permits. Residential property is located in Redwood City and San Mateo County owns the sewer line.

Mel, have you tried going directly with a "trenchless” outfit?  This is the most economical way to go, if you can find one that agrees to obtain the permit. As an architect, I suggest you make any arrangements via a written contract, by a licensed contractor, and the bulk of payment comes AFTER successful completion of the work, as in the county/city signs off your permit.

Hi Brad - What you mentioned is all true and standard with plumbing companies. I looking for recommendations from folks that have good experience in the past.

I use Mike Council.  I know they're a big outfit, probably farm out to a number of contractors.  However, their appointment administration, billing, and scheduling, etc. is awesome.  Its a customer-focused approach that makes it easy for me (who has no skills or time to mess w that stuff).  gud luk bro

I run a large construction department for a landscape design/build firm and use them at least a dozen times a year for our underground sewer and gas. Not cheap, but excellent expertise and service.

Trenchless when conditions are right can be the most cost effective, but you need said conditions and it is not without risks.
