Hi All,

I met many of you at the Frank Miller Memorial Derby this last Saturday at Point San Pablo Harbor.  I live and work at the Harbor, and my crew and I put in the new kayak launching ramp/dock last week.  I've now been bitten by the kayak fishing bug and am shopping for my first boat.  As a 69 year old guy I was very much encourage to see some other folks my age out on the water.  Glad to be here!

Welcome.
Make sure you take a kayak self-rescue lesson and equipped with proper safety gears before you start.

I think you can still enjoy the kayak fishing at your age (I am getting close to your age fast) as long as you are properly set to transport your kayak.
I started with Yakima ShowBoat 66, REAR SLIDE-OUT LOAD ASSIST ROLLERS and move to Thule Hullavator and eventually plan to move a trailer to make easy to load and unload my heavy tandem kayak.

If you don't have any friend to take you out and teach you, plan several guided trips to learn from the masters.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you for your had work setting up the kayak dock. I had to miss the festivities due to work this year, but still appreciate the effort.  :smt006

hi rob,
welcome!  i think i spoke to you about the launch ramp on sat.  first off thanks for getting it installed so quickly.  it allowed for two options for launching our yaks (ramp or beach).  one thing that would help is an additional floating dock right up against it to help get the yaks down in the water more easily.  something like this...
