Hi all
My buddy’s ocean kayak trident 11 was stolen from the Santa Cruz downtown area this last week. It is an older model trident 11 with a rudder system camo color. It also had a yellow PFD and a black and white fiberglass paddle in the hatch when it was taken. Only other identifying characteristic was some old corroded fishfinder hookups in the bow   If you know of anyone who is trying to sell a kayak of this make and model cheap or you know someone who”found one” please let me know via DM

Not sure but the camo pattern on all OK is like a finger pint, each camo kayak is different from the next one and so forth. If you got a good picture of the yak and can match the camo pattern to your picture you might by able to get it back with the police help once it shows up on the open market.

I keep photos of kayak serial number on my phone in case of thefts. I'll even mark it somewhere to be able to identify it once the it's located.

This was just posted on Facebook:

"Is anyone missing a kayak? A passerby said he saw this being stolen last night and dragged under the Riverside Ave bridge. Same guy was waking off with a violin that was also stolen and left near the kayak. We’ve called it in to SCPD."

I made a separate post about it.

Did you check with the PD? They may have it stored as found property.

It's not my boat, I was paying forward.  FB says PD does not have it.

Thank you all for looking out!  It was my boat that was stolen (probably what I get for not posting my santa cruz reports here!)

We had the lead on the boat by the levee, but it was gone by the time we went to grab it.

The boat is still at large, hopefully it'll turn up soon.
