Hi Everyone,

After getting skunked at ARW the past few weeks Im planning to go to Treasure Island Sunday 8/25 on the East side of the island ( facing the East Bay ). I've fished the shore many times but never fish it by Kayak. Does anyone know where you can launch?

Thanks!

There's a remote launch ramp on the north east corner of the island.  Not sure how close you can park, but you should be able to drive thru the gate (if its open), and drop your gear within 100ft of the ramp.  If the gate isn't open, then its about a 100 yard walk with gear/wheels.

Thanks for the heads up, I think i found it on Google Maps . Will try and launch from there.

If I remember correctly that ramp goes from concrete at the top to riprap (boulders) to mud, looking forward to the report!  My office used to be on T.I. so I would fish that area at lunch :)

Can you catch these from shore, or do they only prefer deep water?

Not common from shore...not deep water specifically either...quite elusive unless you find em' on some strange day...

Still saving to buy a kayak, I was wondering if striper fishing is good off TI?

Didn't see this post until the day after you went fishing, but for next time, consult the BASK "trip planner". BASK=Bay Area Sea Kayakers (kayak touring club I'm a member of) This very powerful tool was recently updated. You don't have to be a member to use it. It's a great dashboard type tool, everything you need on one page. The details tab shows pictures of the launch ramp after you click on the yellow put-in marker.

That's a really useful site. Especially the details about launch sites. You might want to post as it's own topic for people not following this thread.
