Most of you Tomales vets probably know this spot but to those that are new this might be helpful. I scouted it out yesterday because the wind kept me off the water.  I figured I do something productive. Leave me a parking spot.

Looks remote, but yet AI-frinedly. Just my kind of place!
I don't like stuff that sucks.

It’s literally right off hiway 1.

Marconi is a great launch. Makes it easy to access Marshall. Parking is definitely tight though. It fills up fast. Really sucks when everyone is packed in like sardines. The locals love that launch

Good to know. Thanks.
Is it free parking or time limit there?

Please be aware that many people use that launch for pleasure and business-lots of aquaculture nearby.
Park considerately leaving plenty of room for trailers, etc.

Free ,no time limit I think ,but can get sketch after dark

X2 even during the day I’ve had buddies get windows smashed and truck cleaned out just FYI. I

Can be lots of transients and “campers” sometimes.

Thanks guys for the tips!  :smt006

Sketchy, windows smashed, and transients is enough to scare me. You get what you pay for?  :smt044

Five bucks for parking and launch at Millers with clean restrooms is pretty reasonable. I've seen the park rangers checking for paid tags much more frequently than in the past so there is some official observation of vehicles going on during the day. A bit more peace of mind about one's parked vehicle is a good thing.

Hey everyone, when I was scouting it out the other day I saw a guy pull up in a cool looking Whaler and pull it out of the water with a nice truck parked there.  And there were about three other late model cars parked there.

I don't think I'd hesitate to launch and park there in daylight hours.  Overnight or camping is another story but I don't think the odds of trouble are any higher -or lower- than Nicks. I'd like to try it.  If I'm coming from Davis (this week on Tuesday or Wednesday) I'll launch at Nicks because after the drive in the wee-hours of the morning - I'll need a bathroom! When I'm back at Olema later this month - with the luxury of a shorter drive and an RV bathroom - I'm going to give this place a shot. It's a bitch getting old and letting bathrooms dictate your kayak launches.  You know what they say at this age:

Never waste an erection
Never trust a fart
and never pass a bathroom!

+1 Also I forgot to lock my car there once, and someone went in and stole my sunglasses and a nice knife. I prefer to launch from Nick's. Marconi can get cramped and muddy

Probably better you were unlocked ..Rather have them take stuff w/o having to replace a window
