Hey there, I went to Rockaway beach yesterday. It was great to meet everyone and see some familiar faces! I got on the water around 6:30 and immediately started marking bait. I dropped down my DD6 and KA once I got to 40FT and began circling a big baitball. Within 20 minutes I had my first fish on. I was looking for a nicer grade as this was a smaller fish but the hook had gone through the eye so I bonked and bled my first chrome of the year!
I realized I had somehow lost the screw in the DD6 fighting the first fish so I retied with an 8oz banana weight. I saw a large amount of kayakers and party boats out at Pedro Point so I trolled my way there for a shaker and a few scratched baits. Way less bait out at Pedro and it seemed like the bite had died so I decided to head back. Within 10 minutes I had another fish on and in the net, time to go home! Neither fish were very big but I was happy with a limit after my last two failed salmon attempts. The launch and landing were super easy and seemed like an overall good day on the water with kayakers coming in with an assortment of fish.
Here's a video from yesterday!

Thanks everyone!! It was nice to meet you guys we will have to fish again soon. I am smoking one of the fish as we speak!!

Unfortunately I won’t be able to go again on Saturday, I have to go to a festival in Petaluma. Wish I was fishing instead. Maybe on Sunday/Monday...
