Anybody have any tips they'd share for improving the landing rate when using barbless hooks ? I've always lost a few fish here and there in the past but all of the sudden, I'm losing more large fish than I ever have before. Specifically, I've been using a 3/O wide gap worm hook and a Senko so there's really not much weight (vs. a hard bait) for the fish to leverage and I try to keep solid tension at all times. Any tips would be really appreciated.

That’s a great question. I don’t know if this is relevant for your fishing, but when tying 2-hook hoochies, I try to make sure the hooks are pointing in opposite directions. I’ve had cases where I think it really made a big difference. This video illustrates the technique:

Thanks for the tips, guys. I think that the drag discs on my reel are on the older side so they dont function terribly smoothly - maybe this is creating uneven tension ? It's usually during a run that the larger fish have been popping off so this makes sense.

New drag washers or new reel, that is the question !  :smt044

A softer/moderate/longer  rod can really make a difference.
